OTI Announces New OptionFinder Micro 3 Hardware Platform

OptionFinder Micro 3 Keypad

Today OTI announced the release of OptionFinder® Micro 3 keypad platform.  This is a new wireless radio frequency keypad hardware system that offers single and multiple digit audience response capability for use in classrooms and meetings.  The new model is highly portable and has an extended battery life making it more cost effective to own and operate.

Each Micro 3 keypads is slightly larger than previous models at 3.5 inches tall.  This makes the keypad easier to use and reduces keypad loss in meetings.   The new design extends battery life for the single coin cell to one year or more in typical use conditions.  This represents a significant improvement over the six month battery life of previous Micro models. The Micro 3 is the first small format OTI keypad to include both a zero and 10 key.  This is particularly useful for facilitators and researchers who use a 0 through 10 input scale for more sophisticated question exercises.

Micro 3 keypad programming is faster and more convenient.  The hardware includes a base station programming function controlled by OptionPower® software.  This allows users to program the channel and ID number for each keypad and eliminates the need for purchase of a separate programming device.    The platform supports up to 500 keypads per channel and uses a Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) design for excellent keypad transmission range and security.

We are excited about adding this new hardware platform to our product line-up.  The keypads are easier to use and have much better battery life than previous models.  Our clients using the OptionPower Decision Support Module have been eagerly looking forward to a small format keypad with both a zero and ten key.  Now it’s here!
